READ_FIRST: How to do Books?
Submitted by jaume on Mon, 18/09/2006 - 12:04pm.To buid a book using this drupal is really easy. Here I try to explain how to do it.
By the moment you can take a look at the book-example I did about some of the contents under the keyword "Sarajevo"
Books are listed here: http://europelostandfound.net/book
When you are reading an article (after clicking the title of the article in the list af articles), just under the title, you will see 2 tabs: view and outline, this option allow to add this article into a book.

Please provide you contact+picture to other LHE participants
Submitted by azra on Fri, 11/08/2006 - 6:04pm.Dear all,
as we continue to travel, the group is constantly shrinking and expanding and it is sometimes impossible to connect all the names with faces and emails. To better stay in contact, I suggest that everyone provides a picture and contact infornation for others. I have created an image gallery especially for this. Who knows, perhaps you find your dat this way as well :) You can post your information by going to the menu "image galleries".
Thanks,
Azra
meet you in sarajevo
Submitted by ute meyer on Fri, 11/08/2006 - 1:50pm.dear all, dear ana and marc,
I DO envy you, that you’re already there on the road !!! but I’m certainly looking forward to join you at the end in Sarajevo. as I am working on a book project comparing eight cities in Europe (one of them being Sarajevo)in terms of strategies (or tactics) of urban development I will stay in the city for “field work” all the week from the 19th to 27th of august and be delighted to be part of the final step of LHE.
some of our main subjects of comparison in the project are different conditions of (public)space, patterns of formal/informal intervention, the significance of temporary use and imprints of power. and of course the most fun part is to “collect” subjective local information… so I would very much appreciate any advice or contact in the city also for the time before 24th !! for example, azra, if there was the chance to know more about your project on the arizona market it would be wonderful!
Founteinescort, site-specific and public interventions on and along the highway of ‘Brotherhood and Unity’
Submitted by Fonteinescort on Sun, 30/07/2006 - 2:16pm.Our expedition in the Western Balkan is to reflect the highway as a dynamic metafor of the connections between the different cultures and surroundings, into artistic interventions on the route.
Fonteinescort will create visual, site-specific works, which reacts on the existing visual and present culture, on, at and along the highway through the Western Balkan.
This to create and execute ‘spontanious’ fountains on selected locations, where we concider these fluent and (sound)streaming relaxtion would be necessary or simply creates a connection between the fysic elements of the place.
This temporary fountains react on the direct surroundings, architecture and atmospheres.
Any suggestions of possible locations or techniques that suit this concept are welcome. Please comment this post.

More on travel planning questions
Since Lost Highway Expedition is a self-organized event, each participant is responsible for his/her own transport, lodging etc. The host cities can help with advice and tips, in addition to their role of organizing events in each city, but everyone is free to make their own course. Also you can post a request for a ride between certain cities on the website and perhaps another participant who is travelling that way will share a ride or some helpful knowledge about the route etc.

travel arrangements?
Hey all, just wondering if travel and accomodation information will be posted soon for each destination - stuff like where to find the gang and advice on where to stay, how to get about etc... maybe this is somewhere on this site but can't find it as yet.
Best of luck from Ireland - Alan

this is a short story relating of my personal itineraries when I used to study in Belgrade, have fun..

There is another project realized by Ghenadie Popescu, artist from Moldova, who currently takes part in the project proposed by session15 of Ecole du Magasin from Grenoble:
http://www.ecoledumagasin.com/session15/index_unpasdecote_circuler_chroniques_popescu.html
The Popescu Chronicles present a bicycle trip across Europe currently realized by the artist Ghenadie Popescu. After leaving Chisinau, Moldova, at the end of May the artist’s itinerary throughout various countries in Europe is determined by his various encounters and traffic conditions along the way. Everyday, Ghenadie Popescu is sending by various possible means — mobile phone, fax, email, post or telegram — one or several messages to Grenoble recounting his travel impressions. Once collected and displayed, these messages make up a daily chronicle, The Popescu Chronicles, a kind of log, whose content is voluntarily “offbeat” regarding the epic nature such a trip might convey.

translation of elementary knowledge on Balkans:
Political changes in Yugoslavia also changed the basic learning standards in schools. What children are learning nowadays in schools is something completely different than what generations were learning just 15 years ago...
The main idea would be to gather all this learning material and mix it together in new plural and unstandardized learning tools.

Images in the text
Submitted by admin on Thu, 25/05/2006 - 11:24am.dear timm,
just below the window where you type in a text, you see a little icon that consists of a picture and a "+" attached to it. just click on it and it will guide you through the selection of images. it will then include the code necessary in your posting. just play around with it and you'll figure it out. it s easy to understand. in later versions this will most likely will be drag and drop. for now this is how it works.
best,

FACE festival of alternative creative exchange in Novi Sad
Submitted by milan on Sun, 14/05/2006 - 12:49pm.I heard about your lost highway expedition. I am delighted that you will visit Novi Sad as well. In fact , I met one of your crew, I think Matthias about year ago in kuda.org.
Anyway, we would like to meet you all during your stay in Novi Sad. We also have some concerte propositions for cooperation. We are running the only site-specific festival in Serbia, FACE festival of alternative creative exchange. For 2007. edition (this festival is bi-annual) the theme will be River. We would like to have partners from every country where Danube is running. We also have many more different projects, so even if you don't like the idea to participate in this project particulary it will still be nice to meet you.

Hey Luca
I really like your new project. Here is my response. Why don't you upload your project in our web site, www.europelostandfound.net. And write to people that you would like them to participate, and they probably get you pics for you. Also may be you could think how similar kind of idea could be done in LHE that is specific to WB and EU, which can be done remotely by you. ELF and LHE, with massive people involved, could become your participants. I am going to put this up on our site myself. But it would also be great if you upload your own explanation and invitation to ELF and LHE people.

How do I travel and sleep in LHE?

Dear Kyong Park,
Thank you very much for sending infos on the Lost Highway Expedition.
It all looks very interesting, I just have some more questions:
Marjetica Potrc told me about an organized trip in Balkan and inbetween the cities. All I can find on the internet so far is a series of exhibitions and projects in the mentioned cities, but no trip.
Do you organize a travel, too? Or does everybody have to travel independently? Do you know about costs for travel?
I would be really really interested, especially as I have been working on public space and have curated video work concerned with Urban Research in Berlin. However, and sadly, I am very low on money, and I will not be able to just take a car (I do not own one) or the train for all the sections of LHE.

ELF web architecture debate
Submitted by kyongpark on Thu, 16/03/2006 - 11:24pm.Hi Midori
Thanks for showing me how ELF.net works.
Pretty busy today so I didn't get chance to really summerize our meeting yesterday with Azra Aksamija to help you. But check ‘GO MOBILE’ in http://www.blogger.com/ which claims that you can send and receive blogs from mobile phones.
The important thing now is to look through other sites to learn about
1 POPULARITY
How to measure popularity, voting or polls and other systems where we can make our community to compete and collaborate to construct teams, groups, clans etc, and that could be graphically represented as an interface.
